LAKE LEMON PROPERTIES
Lake Lemon resides in
northeast Monroe County and northwest Brown County, Indiana. Lake Lemon is
different from many of the newer Indiana lakes in that it is not governed by
the Army Corps of Engineers. This lake predates the ACE governing of lakes
in Indiana, so the rules regarding its governance are comparatively less
restrictive. For example, most development had already occurred on Lake
Lemon prior to prohibitive zoning rules, so Lake Lemon has a higher
residential density and has more of the "old time lake" feel to it. Also,
since there were no restrictions on boat dock rights, there is a higher
density of docks, and homes are more likely to have individual docks as
opposed to group docks.
Lake Lemon enjoys a strong sense of community, is close to
Unionville, and enjoys a setting that is among the most scenic in Monroe
County. Residents are treated to fireworks every 4th of July holiday.
Bloomington is accessible and is a short drive away of 20-30 minutes away.
Unionville is just a few minutes away from Northshore Drive. Northshore
Drive properties are about 20 minutes from Bloomington's north side shopping.
