June 2009:
The state of Indiana passed "Good Funds" legislation. Basically, any amount
in a real estate transaction -- earnest money, cash at closing, etc -- must be
wired and may no longer be provided via a bank check. Go

February 2009:
Was selected to join the MLS Design Team for the Bloomington Board of
REALTORS. There are five REALTOR members on this board. Our job is to design the
new MLS system (due summer 2009) for the Bloomington Board of REALTORS. While
the new system will not be available to the non-REALTOR public, there are many
enhancements that will allow REALTORS to better serve their clients. The benefit
to being selected for this group is that, while other agents will be going
through a steep learning curve so they can support their clients, Signature
Realty Services will already know how the new system works and will be able to
fully use the new MLS system in support of its clients. So when you want to find
an agent who knows what they're doing, your first stop should be Signature
Realty Services!

site! Help my buyers find the properties they seek! Do you think you have a

this web site! So many people ask for help in finding contractors that SRS
thought it would be easy to put a list of recommended contractors online. Do you
have a contractor service to add -- or one whose services aren't worthy of being
on the list? Then contact SRS!

September 2008: In
addition to being in the Bloomington Board of REALTORS®
(BBOR), Signature Realty Services has joined the Metropolitan
Indianapolis Board of REALTORS® (MIBOR)!
SRS's primary market area is Bloomington and Monroe County, and this area is
served primarily by the BBOR. But real estate
is going regional, and sometimes Bloomington properties will get listed only
with Indianapolis agents. And sometimes, especially lately, it seems, Indy
agents will come down to show Bloomington properties.
Having a property listed through both BBOR
and MIBOR is especially helpful to sellers. It provides an added venue for the
property to get online visibility, both via MIBOR and via their ancillary
listing parties. This is helpful in general but is especially helpful for niche
market properties like luxury condos, properties close to Indiana University,
and properties on Lakes Monroe or Lemon. All properties listed with Signature
Realty Services will appear in the MLS systems for both BBOR and MIBOR. And SRS
is pleased to provide this added value at no extra charge to its owners.
Buyers benefit because
SRS can double-check to make sure a candidate listing doesn't stay excluded
merely because it's listed only with MIBOR and not with the BBOR. This is useful
for all buyers but is especially handy for buyers of lake and niche properties.
